Freedom of Information requests are free and anyone can submit them. Use WhatDoTheyKnow — all requests and responses are published publicly.

Our research identifies evidence gaps. When we find a claim without an official figure, we submit an FOI to get the real number. You can do the same for your local area.

Write to Your MP

Use WriteToThem to contact your MP. Cite specific findings — MPs are obligated to respond to constituent correspondence.

When you write, include the source reference. "FOI response [reference] shows [figure]" is harder to dismiss than an opinion.
